Kavita Gupta

Kavita Gupta’s practice focuses on representing a variety of debtors and creditors in all phases of complex distressed financial situations including out of court work outs and Chapter 11 cases.  She has experience in large scale restructuring and has advised clients in distressed situations across industries including retail, real estate, non-profit entities, hospitality, and energy. Before joining Gupta Ferrer LLP, Kavita was counsel at a bankruptcy boutique firm and before that, she was a career law clerk for a federal bankruptcy judge. 

Kavita can also serve as a court appointed fiduciary, e.g., a Chapter 11 or Chapter 7 trustee, liquidating plan trustee, state court receiver, and/or assignee for the benefit of creditors.  She has been appointed as a Chapter 11 trustee by the Office of the United States Trustee and/or elected as a Chapter 7 trustee in a variety of large corporate and individual cases. 

Kavita has lectured extensively, is widely published and has been interviewed by numerous national publications.
